Editing Photos for Tasks

In order to complete my tasks, i needed to take a photo of Ethan, who is featuring in my trailer and also on the front cover of my magazine and photoshop it to how i would like it to appear on each of them. I want to place a dark and shadowed filter over the photograph to give it a creepy, scary effect to match the genre i have chosen for my trailer.
 

This is the original photograph i took and as you can see it is serious but not threatening to the audience. To change this i experimented on photoshop with different filters and techniques to develop the picture and get the shadowed effect i wanted for my work.

I tried many different blending options, which is shown in the picture below and experimented with the colour and filter options on the tool bar at the top of the photoshop application. This allowed me to become more familiar with photoshop developing my skills and improving my work.

I am happy with how this photo has developed and how I've edited it to match the genre of my trailer. It has a dark, mysterious effect and defines shadowed features from the original picture.
